Dr. Brian Mowry is the math program author for the Frog Street Preschool Curriculum.   He has been with Frog Street for 5 years.  Before joining Frog Street, he worked in the Austin Independent School District in Texas for 25 years. He taught bilingual pre kindergarten for 9 years and bilingual kindergarten for 2 years. He was a district K-5 Math Specialist for 3 years and and served as a district Early Childhood Specialist for 11 years. He has earned various awards, including Teacher of the Year for two consecutive years and was recently named the Austin Association for the Education of Young Children (AAEYC) Teacher Educator of the Year. He received his doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction (with an emphasis on early childhood education) at the University of Texas at Austin. He has also authored a national textbook curriculum in mathematics and coauthored various scholarly articles as well as a college text on DAP.  He has presented at several national and state conferences, including NAEYC and NCTM.
