Anita Johnson

Kealing Middle School
CS & Robotics Teacher
Anita Johnson teaches computer science and robotics at Kealing Middle School. She has been coding since 1968, when she wrote her first FORTRAN program on IBM punch cards. Her long career spans academia, government, and industry, including 8 years as a marketing manager at Intel Corporation. Prior to Kealing, Anita was at Austin Community College, where she tutored electronics and started the ACC BatLab makerspace. She is passionate about getting and keeping students engaged with physical computing and project-based learning. Anita has degrees from Rice University and UT Austin, attended graduate school at MIT, and is a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator.
