In this session, participants learn how manipulatives can be used to teach and reinforce important mathematics skills related to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We focus on both concepts of the operations and helping students learn procedures related to the operations. During the session, participants will work in groups and use hands-on materials to explain operation concepts and procedures. By the end of the session, participants should have acquired more tools to use in teaching mathematics across the elementary grades.
