The primary topic during this sessions is how to promote communication about learned skills within students. This session will focus on how to incorporate Recap, a web tool, that allows users the opportunity to share out their thinking and to rate how well they are versed in that topic. The use of Recap can expand throughout the curriculum, but, for this session, we will explore how teachers can use this tool to gauge student understanding of science skills and to further expand their knowledge. Participants will be able to work both sides as a teacher and a student. Participants are encouraged to bring a device (laptop, mobile device, Chromebook) in order to fully participate. As the end of the session, my hope is that K-12 teachers will leave with a tool that they will be ready to use right away in their classrooms.
