Earth Camp is a water quality science education program focused on watersheds and the Edward's Aquifer.  Lessons and field investigations includes geography and natural history, water quality monitoring, hydrology of the aquifer, human impacts and solutions.  Thirty percent of the AISD Science Curriculum Road Map vocabulary for 5th grade is covered through hands-on science investigations in the classroom and field. All content is correlated to the TEKS.  This training is for Title I schools only, and is required for any fifth-grade registered for a week of Earth Camp. Participants should plan to meet at McKinney Falls State Park no later than 8:45 am for the field portion of the workshop (9:00 am - 12:00 pm); please dress appropriately for rugged terrain. Teachers will meet at St. Edwards in JBWN 226 for the afternoon portion (1:00 - 4:00 pm). View the full-day itinerary at http://bit.ly/earthcamp5. Preregistration required.
